The Tragedy of a Woman: A reworking of Pride & Prejudice. Before Bingley rents Netherfield, his best friend marries his sister Caroline. Regretting the marriage almost instantly, Darcy meets someone else at a ball six months before the start of Pride & Prejudice. This woman becomes his mistress. Note: This was my first attempt at Jane Austen Fanfiction. It is set in the years 1811-1812. The first chapter is a prologue, hence the odd numbering in the links. (8/7/01- 29/7/01)

While in London for the winter, Darcy has an encounter with the Earl that causes him to make her acquaintance. As their knowledge each of each other deepens, so does his concern over her happiness.
